Mediterranean Gems

The Mediterranean is full of wonderful holiday destinations to suit many different tastes and preferences. For those who fancy splashing out a bit, the likes of Cannes or St Tropez in the Côte d'Azur region of France makes for a luxury getaway in exclusive surroundings. For something a little more modest, the island of Malta is a wonderful and welcoming island with a fascinating English-flavoured heritage and bustling beach resorts. And of course there's the ever-popular Spanish coast, with the bubbly resort of Benidorm in the Costa Blanca and the likes of Marbella for a somewhat swanky escape.

In Northern Africa, the magnificent destination of Tunisia makes a truly diverse getaway. Indeed, Tunisia holidays can tick just about every box imaginable. Fancy an easy-going beach break with all the classic ingredients of sun, sea and sand? Check. Fancy a spot of shopping before heading to the harbour to sip a frothy cappuccino, and watch the swish yachts and fishing boats roll in at the end of the day? Certainly. Keen to explore the local heritage and wander down spice-scented streets or haggle with the locals in a lively souk? Done.

Another Mediterranean favourite is Turkey. You might book Turkey holidays with the intention of spending lazy days on the beach followed by low-key nights out in a local restaurant. But there's much more to do besides. The town of Bodrum for instance is a classic east-meets-west destination. From the ancient castle rising loftily above to the town to its high street shops, from the bustling markets to the swish seafront bars – a holiday in Turkey is a captivating experience that's bound to have you coming back for more.

Whatever you fancy, whether it's exploring ancient sights or melting some plastic in a designer boutique, there's a Mediterranean getaway with your name on it.
